Going through these kinds of things makes one tougher and braver than one realizes I suppose. As for being always be damaged, I guess it is true, yet you’re not crawling on your belly because of your courage and strength — not everyone can do that. And I’m sure there are some days that you feel perfectly in balance with the world around you, that you feel happy, which makes you forget about your limp and walk without it.

Time flies, people, situations, emotions, even pain change. We lick our wounds and wait, and I believe, given the needed time, all wounds heal in the end.
